This exhibit commemorates the Mexican Día de los Muertos holiday with a trio of Day of the Dead altars created by California artists. One of the works featured will be by Sacramento-based John S. NASA's Hubble Space Telescope Exhibit

Launched into the Earth’s atmosphere in 1990, the space telescope that NASA calls “one of the most productive scientific instruments ever built” has taken hundreds of thousands of out-of-this-world pictures. This Manetti Shrem exhibition showcases works that celebrate the rich Northern California landscape. Featured artists include former UC Davis professors Robert Arneson and William T. Wiley, both considered fathers of the Funk Art movement, and fellow UCD faculty alumnus Wayne Thiebaud, who will present three pieces inspired by the Delta, including Reservoir and Orchard.

Wiley, both considered fathers of the Funk Art movement, and fellow UCD faculty alumnus Wayne Thiebaud, who will present three pieces inspired by the Delta, including Reservoir and Orchard.

Mandarin chicken pizza, mandarin funnel cake, mandarin milkshakes and other citrusy creations will abound at this festival celebrating Placer County’s fall bounty of Satsuma mandarins. In between bites, sip some suds from the mandarin craft beer competition or use your quick hands (and teeth) during the mandarin peel-and-eat contest.

Harlem 100

This centennial concert—created in collaboration with the National Jazz Museum—celebrates the highly influential Harlem Renaissance movement, which lasted from about 1918 to 1937. The show will feature music by jazz greats from the era like Fats Waller, Duke Ellington and Bessie Smith.
