Set in the titular Southern town, Jim and Laurel, a young white couple, are preparing for the birth of their son. But when the delivery day comes, Jim is shocked to discover that the baby boy is not his, but rather the result of Laurel’s affair with a black elementary school principal. Trust is broken and relationships are tested in this B Street production of playwright Evan Linder’s examination of race, love and class, which The Chicago Tribune calls “wise, truthful, funny and moving.”
