Feb 28, 2018
Known for his stream-of-consciousness stand-up routines covering everything from world history and American politics to religion and the British royal family, English comedian Eddie Izzard will take the stage at the Mondavi Center this February. The Emmy Award winner—whose first book Believe Me: A Memoir of Love, Death and Jazz Chickens was released last June and became a New York Times bestseller—will talk about some of his life’s most significant moments, like the passing of his mother when he was just 6 years old, coming out as transgender in 1985, and running 27 marathons in 27 days in South Africa in 2016, at the age of 54, to honor the 27 years Nelson Mandela spent in prison.
