Schoolhouse Rock jump-started many a Saturday morning during the ’70s and ’80s, using animation and catchy tunes to edutain kids (and more than a few adults) on topics like science, economics and government. The Roseville Theatre Arts Academy resurrects the erstwhile program to tell the story of Nina, the owner of a down-on-its-luck diner whose sister is due to return home from a business trip and shut the place down. Nina, her staff and diner patrons brainstorm how to drum up new business, and sing songs like the jazzy “Energy Blues,” the funky “Them Not-So-Dry Bones” and the country-tinged “Dollars and Sense.”
Showtimes are Sat. 11 a.m. & 2 p.m.
