“The man who put go-go boots on Brazilian music,” according to Billboard, keyboardist Sérgio Mendes first turned heads and perked up ears with his breakout 1966 hit “Mas Que Nada.” He would go on to reinvent a number of pop songs into bossa nova and samba tracks, like The Beatles’ “The Fool on the Hill.” The three-time Grammy winner and his band Brasil return to Folsom—they appeared at the Harris Center in January—to perform songs from throughout his career, including from the 2006 album Timeless, which features collaborations with icons Stevie Wonder, John Legend, India.Arie and Justin Timberlake. They’ll play generation-spanning tunes like “Never Gonna Let You Go,” “Pretty World” and “Agua de Beber.”
Performance times are Sat. at 7 p.m. and Sun. at 2:30 p.m.
