What started as the offspring of the tiny neighborhood favorite Café Buonarroti in Rocklin has now become one of the best-kept secrets in the neighboring town of Lincoln, albeit in a much larger space and more expansive menu. The family-owned and operated restaurant brings a little piece of Italy to the space, where the décor—a mix of sleek granite and cobblestone—is hardly the only aspect that screams perfetto. For starters, there’s the homemade red sauce that is rich in flavor yet light on the stomach. Many of the pasta standards, including gnocchi, are also made fresh, and portions are generous. Plus, Buonarroti is one of the few local spots that boasts an ever-changing lineup of fresh daily-catch specials, from swordfish to halibut and even Hawaiian ono, created in true Tuscan style, with just the right amount of fresh basil and herbs along with light seasonings like tasty lemon pesto aioli and citrus dressing.
