Find a taste of the City of Light in the City of Trees at this airy French bakery and patisserie, where the glass cases are filled with tempting treats like golden croissants, colorful macarons and delicate tarts. Owner Esther Son opened this location in January (it’s twice the size of Estelle’s original downtown cafe), tapping Steve Acosta—previously the pastry chef at Jean Philippe Patisserie at the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas—to head up the kitchen and create new pastries, such as the strawberry-mascarpone-filled croissants and exquisite macaron rosé with rose-infused pastry cream, raspberry compote and fresh raspberries. Downtown Estelle fans, rejoice: A newer outpost at the DoCo plaza provides a bevy of lunch options, such as the signature caprese sandwich on a fresh-baked baguette or the savory ham and caramelized onion quiche.
