Fahrenheit 250

  • American

Essential Information

7042 Folsom Blvd.
Sacramento, CA

East Sacramento’s new barbecue restaurant was once home to the live-music venue Cattle Club, where acts like Nirvana and No Doubt took the stage in the ’80s and ’90s. Nowadays, patrons are just as fired up for Fahrenheit’s barbecue and a menu boasting inventive apps like fried green tomatoes with jalapeño aioli and tangy piccalilli, or traditional sides like collard greens and cornbread muffins (which are served with an irresistibly good house-made whipped butter sweetened with local wildflower honey). Meat is the star here; think tender brisket, thick-cut tri-tip and fall-off-the-bone pork ribs, all cooked in a seven-foot-tall steel smoker that can handle 1,000 pounds of meat at a time. But herbavores will be just as pleased as their carnivore friends, thanks to the robust vegetarian offerings, which includes smoked tofu tacos and a pulled seitan sandwich. Wash it all down with one of the local beers on tap or a specialty cocktail like the tangy-sweet Kentucky Buck made with house-made strawberry-infused bourbon.
