Joe Marty's Bar and Grille
Sacramento, CA 95818 916-382-9022
This reincarnation of the beloved Land Park watering hole Joe Marty’s—which closed in 2005 due to a fire—opened in 2015 as a family-friendly tribute to Sacramento’s baseball history. The walls of this neighborhood restaurant, now owned by Land Park resident Devon Atlee, are adorned with historic memorabilia, including a black-and-white photo of Sacramento baseball star Joe Marty (the restaurant’s namesake, who opened the original bar in 1938) with former teammate Joe DiMaggio and Marty’s vintage Sacramento Solons jersey. The menu boasts a lineup of elevated ballpark eats, like the pillowy Parmesan-dusted pretzel bites served in a tin bucket with a sweet and tart Dijon mustard sauce, and spicy sriracha-lime chicken wings, as well as Original Chicken, pressure-fried in a classic Broaster for that perfect crispy-on-the-outside, juicy-on-the-inside texture. With America’s favorite pastime playing on nine flat-screen TVs, eight beers on tap and a list of themed cocktails like Under the Bleachers (an herbaceous whiskey drink made with brown sugar, cherries and bitters), this new take on an old favorite hits it out of the park.
