The throngs of budding history buffs who flock to Old Sacramento this summer will find the lessons go down oh-so-easily at this tiny presidential-themed milkshake and coffee bar, which opened on Abraham Lincoln’s birthday, Feb. 12, in honor of owner Kelly Boyles’ favorite commander in chief. If there’s a line while you wait for your Jimmy Carter shake (peanut butter and Reese’s peanut butter cups for the former peanut farmer), you can peruse the collection of POTUS biographies scattered around the clean, white space, or snap a selfie with a life-size cardboard Lincoln. Our favorite flavor? The Theodore Roosevelt, which is named after the notorious coffee fiend and is a stimulating blend of cold brew from Clayton Coffee & Tea in Modesto and vanilla ice cream. The lineup currently hosts eight drinkable offerings, plus a build-your-own Freedom Shake—so get out there and vote for your favorite too.
