This small-plates restaurant in the Quarry Ponds complex in Granite Bay, expresses chef-owner Irie Gengler’s love of Mediterranean and global flavors as well as the dining style of Spain. Inspired by Spanish travels with his wife Tamara, the talented Gengler—formerly of Crush 29 and The Firehouse—offers a relaxed style of dining in which each glass of wine comes with a tiny, complimentary “cover” (that’s what tapas means in Spanish) and where the changing seasonal offerings draw on the best of our region, including seafood from Passmore Ranch (a sustainable aquaculture ranch in Sloughhouse). Source also channels Spain with its Paella Wednesdays (starting at 6 p.m. and running $20 per person).
