Tako Korean BBQ
3030 T St.
Sacramento, CA 95816 916-346-4933
South Korea meets south of the border at this buzzy new Sacramento eatery. Located inside a converted 1936 gas station on the corner of Alhambra and T, Tako marries a retro look with a forward-tasting menu of Mexican street food with a Gangnam-style twist that features tacos stuffed with sweetly savory beef like bulgogi (marinated “fire meat”) and galbi (short ribs) or tofu, and served with chipotle, green tomatillo or blueberry yogurt sauce; chicken burritos with cheese, coleslaw and sticky rice; and the kimchi quesadilla, which brilliantly combines creamy, melted jack and cheddar cheeses with crunchy, piquant pickled cabbage (Tako’s version is made by co-owner Yunece Cho’s mom). Other items include offerings that fall squarely on one side of the culinary fence or the other, such as the Mexican flan and tres leches cake and the Korean japchae bap (stir-fried sweet potato noodles with veggies over rice) and soju cocktails. Cheers! Or rather, salud and gun bae!
