Get 2018 off to a great start at these eight restaurants around town that will be extending their weekend brunch into Monday, New Year’s Day, and serving up everything from decadent apple-ricotta pancakes and tiramisu French toast to playful winter cocktails like hot toddies with agave nectar.

Canon

On New Year’s Day at this new East Sacramento restaurant, Michelin-starred chef Brad Cecchi will be whipping up elevated brunch cuisine like ricotta pancakes with apple filling and apple cubes, and brioche avocado toast topped with Dungeness crab, roasted tomatoes and preserved lemon relish, as well as griddled banana bread sprinkled with rum raisins and powdered sugar. To sip, there’s espresso from Identity Coffees and a Bloody Mary made with kimchi juice and garnished with green olives and a celery stalk. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. 1719 34th St. 469-2433. canoneastsac.com

Capitol Garage

Warm up with a Woodford hot toddy infused with agave nectar, which pairs well with the popular tiramisu French toast covered with vanilla mascarpone, house-made mocha sauce and orange slices. 8 a.m.-3 p.m. 1500 K St. 444-3633. capitolgarage.com
