What makes CountryHouse unique?
CountryHouse is one of the few communities in the area dedicated exclusively to memory care. Because serving individuals with dementia is our sole focus, every decision— from the design of our neighborhoods and dining experience to staff training and the activities we offer—is made with cognitive wellness in mind. Rather than adapting an assisted living model, we’ve created an environment specifically for those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. This specialized approach helps residents feel more confident, engaged and at home while giving families peace of mind.
What should families look for in a memory care community?
Not all memory care communities are the same. Families should ask about specialized dementia training, meaningful daily programming, secure yet welcoming surroundings, and a team that takes the time to know each resident personally. It’s also important to ask how activities are adapted for different stages of dementia, how behaviors are managed with compassion, and how families remain involved in their loved one’s care.
When is the right time to consider memory care?
Many families wait until a crisis occurs, but transitioning earlier often leads to better outcomes and allows a decision to be made with less stress. If a loved one is becoming unsafe at home, wandering, missing medications, struggling with daily routines, or placing increasing demands on family caregivers, it may be time to explore memory care. An earlier transition allows residents to build relationships, establish routines, and participate in enriching activities while maintaining as much independence as possible.
