Family-Owned Businesses 2023

March 1, 2023
Leah Goss,

Future Automotive Group
Geoff & Steve Pleau

For 60 years, the Pleau family has served drivers for all their automotive needs. They started in Sacramento with one Ford franchise, and since 1963 they have expanded the Future Automotive Group to thirteen dealerships and twenty-three franchises across Northern and Central California. In Greater Sacramento, they operate two Ford franchises and two Nissan franchises, in addition to Toyota, Honda, Chevrolet, Lincoln, Isuzu and Hino franchises—all providing sales, service and parts operations to valued customers.

As a privately owned business with a foundation built on core family values, the Future Automotive Group has provided a personal and unique experience to generations of customers. “These days, family owned businesses are becoming a rarity, especially in the highly competitive automotive industry. We take pride in being family owned and operated, and providing our customers a friendly, welcoming experience at our dealerships. Our team has served families in our community for decades for all their automotive needs, and that’s special. Vehicles we’ve sold and serviced have been a part of countless significant moments in our customers’ lives. We are grateful to continue to build these lifelong relationships, now and for generations to come,” says Geoff Pleau.

As the Future Automotive Group celebrates their milestone anniversary this year, Pleau fully credits this accomplishment to their tenured employees. “We truly are a family operated business with a number of employees across our stores who are related: parents, sons, daughters, siblings, cousins and spouses. These team members have been a part of our organization for many years and have helped us grow to who we are today as we celebrate sixty years of business. Over 200 employees have worked at the Future Automotive Group for ten-plus years, and their loyalty does not go unnoticed. Our family atmosphere speaks volumes about our commitment to providing excellent customer service.”
