Editorial Interns

Sactown magazine offers editorial internships for qualified college students and recent college graduates.

Each internship spans two issues of this bimonthly magazine (four months). There may be some flexibility based on school schedules.

Interns will receive practical experience in reporting, writing, research and fact checking, and will learn the art and mechanics of a creating an award-winning magazine, both for print and online. Each intern will work closely with the editors, all of whom have extensive national experience (The New York TimesInStyleEntertainment WeeklyMoney, etc). This will be an exciting, fast-paced experience, and a great first step in a journalism career. School credit may be available.

The position requires 16-24 hours of work per week (some full days are preferred whenever possible, although partial days can work, too) during business hours (M-F from 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.) and is open to candidates who have worked on or contributed to a school or consumer publication. Please ONLY apply if you have some form of print journalism experience, either with a college publication or a consumer newspaper or magazine. Class papers, even for journalism classes, do not count.
