Club Pheasant Restaurant
Named for the pheasants that once roamed here, little has changed at this West Sacramento institution since 1935. The century-old building houses a menu of hearty Italian-American fare based on recipes from the restaurant’s Italian immigrant founders, including the popular steak sandwich with beef tenderloin served sliced on a garlic French roll, and the chicken cacciatore in a tangy tomato-wine sauce. Don’t miss the signature ravioli: Made fresh weekly, they come fried with cocktail sauce as an appetizer, or on their own with meat or marinara sauce. For dessert, try the bread pudding with vanilla rum sauce.
