Ninja Sushi & Teriyaki
Essential Information
For a kid, chopsticks can be more useful as drumsticks than utensils, and at Ninja, you won’t get dirty looks when your little Ringo Starr breaks into an impromptu solo. In fact, chef-owner Steve Kwon might even whisk him to the full-sized drum set on the restaurant’s large stage for an encore. These musical interludes are just part of the relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere at the eatery’s sprawling new 13,000-square-foot home in Roseville, which opened last March and is about five times the size of Ninja’s nearby original location. The menu features inventive rolls like the Spicy Big Mac, comprising spicy tuna, avocado, cream cheese and jalapeños, deep-fried to golden perfection, or the French fry roll with a soy wrap. Each meal comes with miso soup and deep-fried ice cream, and both are tasty enough to warrant putting some extra dinner into a take-home box—which actually makes a pretty great makeshift drum set if you want to play along.
