Michael Rooker, who played Yondu in both "Guardians of the Galaxy" films, will appear at the new Fandemic Tour comic con.

A brand-new comic con is making the River City its first stop on a national tour in 2018, bringing celebrities and comic artists to the Sacramento Convention Center from June 22-24.

The Fandemic Tour, the brainchild of John Macaluso (the former CEO of Wizard World Comic Con) has announced that it will feature stars from hit TV shows like The Walking Dead, including Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Steven Yeun, as well as Sean Gunn and Michael Rooker from Guardians of the Galaxy (Rooker also appeared in The Walking Dead). Also on hand will be fellow GOTG alum Chris Sullivan, who stars in the hit NBC series This is Us and grew up in Gold River.

The confab will also welcome artists like animator Phil Ortiz (The Simpsons, Muppet Babies), comic book artist Neal Adams, known for modernizing characters like Batman and Green Arrow, and live pop artist Rob Prior, who has contributed his talents to Game of Thrones and Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Headliners will join in at autograph signings, photo-ops, panel discussions and Q&As throughout the weekend. The inaugural event will also feature a costume contest and a showroom floor with merchandise like vintage comic books, movie posters, cosplay costume pieces and collectibles from fan-favorite franchises like Harry Potter to X-Men.

Expect to see more celebrity guests and artists to be added to the lineup as the event draws closer. Full programming will be released about a month before the convention.

Passes for the full three-day event are $75 (with single-day tickets ranging from $35-$45), while packages like the Fandemic Fanatic VIP experience—which includes, among other perks, early admission, a collectible swag bag and a pro photo with a celebrity—are $150. Tickets and more information are available at fandemictour.com.
