That we are all opportunists who profit from another person’s suffering. But most of us truly care about people and work hard to level the playing field against insurance companies. We guide people through a difficult time and secure the resources they need. This work is about dignity, accountability and fairness.
How does your firm value a case, and when is it ready to settle?
It’s hard to value a case on day one. There is no settlement calculator that can do that. We start by understanding our client’s story. We spend time with clients, visit them at home and sometimes at their work, and we learn how their injuries affect their daily lives. Understanding the medicine is critical, but so is understanding the person. Once we recognize the full impact of an injury, we can accurately evaluate the case and determine whether settlement is the right path. Some clients find peace through settlement; others find it in having a jury determine the value of their loss. Our goal is to help clients reach the outcome that best serves them.
