Listen to Your Mother
On Saturday, spend some time at the Guild Theater reflecting on what motherhood means at Sacramento’s production of the nationally acclaimed spoken-word presentation focused on “giving motherhood a microphone.” As one of 32 performances throughout the country, LYTM Sacramento will feature 14 readings from local mothers (including author Dawn Dais and photographer Nichole Beaudry) and one father. Wise Villa Winery
Placer County’s only winery with a commercial kitchen and gourmet chef will serve Sunday brunch in its food-and-wine pairing bistro. Reservations are required for the prix-fixe meal, which includes mimosas, a choice of steak and eggs, lobster eggs benedict or apple cinnamon French toast, and dessert. Mother’s Day Triathlon, Duathlon and Free One Mile Family Fun Run
Start Sunday off on the right foot with Total Body Fitness’ third annual race day for women only. The entire event takes place within Granite Bay State Park, beginning with a swim near Granite Beach, continuing with a bike ride through the hills around Folsom Lake and ending with a run toward Beal’s Point. Mother Hens in the Vineyard
Celebrate all weekend long at Elk Grove’s McConnell Estates Winery, where The Hen House of Wilton, a natural beauty products boutique, will hold its annual spring shopping event.
