Eat your way around the world at Davis' Street Food Rodeo

Strap on your cowboy boots and get set to giddy-up across the causeway for the Street Food Rodeo in Davis on Friday, May 29.
The outdoor food fest, which will be held at Westlake Plaza, will the chance for some gustatory globe-trotting via 10 local food trucks, including gourmet Spanish rice dishes from Addy’s Paella, Greek cuisine from Hefty Gyros, grilled Asian street fare from Slightly Skewed, and Belgian waffles from VolksWaffle. Guests can also try all-American eats from barbeque truck Smokers Wild BBQ or cool off with Hawaiian shaved ice from Local Kine Shave Ice.
“Davis is full of foodies who crave more culinary options than what our downtown restaurant scene has to offer,” says Melanie Gentles, co-editor-in-chief of The Davis Dirt events calendar, which organizes the event. “We try to satisfy that craving. Food trucks are a foodie's dream come true.”
Lamppost Pizza and an ice cream cart from Westlake Market will round out the tasty options, along with a beer garden serving up fresh brews from San Leandro-based Drake’s Brewing Company.
Free. May 29. 5-9 p.m. Westlake Plaza. 1260 Lake Blvd. Davis. 530-758-5425. thedavisdirt.com
