Flights of Fancy
This fall, glamour and elegance take off as designers go back to the sexy ’60s for looks that are present perfect

Get ready to be retro-fitted, as modern takes on ’60s chic rule this season. From Ralph Lauren to Donna Karan to Louis Vuitton, fall collections are awash with playful patterns, rich textures, dapper suits, fitted silhouettes and ladylike charms. It’s Mad Men meets Marc Jacobs, if you will.
And the Sacramento International Airport was the ideal setting for this vintage trend. With its futuristic $1 billion Central Terminal B opening next fall, this fall, we wanted to shine a spotlight on our current Terminal B. Having remained largely unchanged since its 1967 debut, the charming old-school locale, which is dotted with mid-century signage and Eames waiting chairs, once served as a backdrop for The Assassination of Richard Nixon. (Sean Penn’s chilling final scenes? Gate 23.)
Starring in our scenes is 23-year-old Ryan Guzman, of Wilhelmina and Look Model Agency. The West Campus High grad can be spotted this season in Abercrombie & Fitch’s A&F Quarterly shot by the legendary Bruce Weber. Then there’s 19-year-old Stars model Brooke Grebe from Grass Valley, who has walked for the likes of Oscar de la Renta and Banana Republic. They’re the perfect cast for this season’s return to grace. And with these new classic looks, you’ll be able to step back in time and arrive in style, too. —Jon Schuller
