Sacramento-based 3D Candies will be among the dozens of chocolatiers featured at the second annual Sacramento Chocolate Salon this month.

How sweet it is: After debuting last January at The Citizen Hotel, the Sacramento Chocolate Salon returns for a second year—this time to Embassy Suites Riverfront in Old Sacramento.

Attendees will get their just desserts on Jan. 31 at this cacao-centered event by TasteTV, a San Francisco-based media company. Among this year’s participants during the day’s talks and demonstrations will be choco-gurus such as Liv Turner of Oscura Chocolate and Art Pollard of Amano Artisan Chocolate. In addition, about 20 gourmet chocolatiers from around the region and country will display sweets to sample or for sale, including the locally based truffle makers Le Grand Confectionary and Capital Confections; 3D Candies, also from Sacramento, which specializes in caramels with flavors like jalapeño and Himalayan rock salt; Napa-based Quail Point Chocolate, whose exotic bonbons include The Marrakech with more than 30 herbs and spices in the ganache; and Bay Area-based Sweet Milalani, which makes Hawaiian-inspired chocolates.

The second annual Sacramento Chocolate Salon will take place on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Embassy Suites Riverfront (100 Capitol Mall). Tickets can be purchased only in advance at sacchocolatesalon.com ($20; $10 for ages 6-12; free for children under 6).
