This novel Oak Park meat mecca and dive bar caters to carnivorous appetites with a menu comprising six cuts of steak (portobello mushrooms and veggie skewers are available for non-meat eaters) that guests take to the gas grill in the middle of the room and cook to their desired temperatures. Patrons then choose their own dining adventures with one of four different grill sauces, rounded out with plates of leafy mixed greens and buttery house-made garlic bread. Named after the grandfather of owner Chris Pendarvis (also the proprietor of local favorites the Naked Coffee chain and the breakfast spot Orphan), Arthur Henry’s exudes retro charm, from its baby grand piano to its Mad Men-era cocktails.
