Yue Huang

Cuisine: Chinese

Essential Information

3860 Truxel Rd., Sacramento, CA 95834

As soon as you step inside Yue Huang’s expansive dining room with its crystal chandeliers and high-back upholstered chairs at round banquet tables, you know you’re in for a Cantonese spread worthy of the ornate setting. On the dim sum menu at this Natomas restaurant, which opened June 2016, don’t miss the pillowy barbecue pork buns and the toothsome shrimp dumplings, which arrive at the table by cart in bamboo baskets with other dishes like the signature steamed walnut buns. Dim sum is only served until 3 p.m., but if you miss the cutoff time, there’s an extensive lineup of classic Chinese entrées—never too oily or sweet—including the wok-fried braised abalone in matsutake sauce, generously portioned beef chow mein and addictive fried calamari, dusted with pepper and red chili flakes. Before you leave, request a complimentary cup of dessert soup like one with sweet red beans and tapioca pearls for a traditional end to a memorable, moveable feast.
