New 'cue: Fahrenheit 250 opens today on Folsom Blvd.

There’s a new eatery in town for barbecue lovers: Fahrenheit 250 opens tonight near Sacramento State, filling the space once occupied by Bisla’s Sports Bar.

Fahrenheit 250 is the brainchild of co-owners and cousins Ray Lettini and Gino Sardo, who took over ownership of Bisla's in 2012 and began converting the location to their new venue over the winter. Their menu focuses on high-quality meats from producers like Diestel Ranch and Mary’s Free Range Chicken, which will get plenty of smoky flavor from cooking over locally seasoned wood in a barbecue made of two-inch thick steel that was handcrafted in Houston.

If a glimpse at the opening day menu is any indication, carnivores aren’t the only ones who will appreciate faring at Fahrenheit. Vegetarian and vegan options include grilled tofu kabobs and a pulled seitan sandwich topped with coleslaw on an Acme Bread Company bun.

Meanwhile, beers from Track 7, Jackrabbit and other local brewers will share the inaugural tap list with “The Kimmie, The Yink & The Holy Gose”—a cult favorite beer from Anderson Valley Brewing Co. in Boonville, brought in especially for the restaurant’s grand opening.

Fahrenheit 250 is open 5 to 10 p.m. today and Saturday; 12-8 p.m on Sunday, and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. during the week. 7042 Folsom Blvd. 476-4508. fahrenheitbbq.com
