The Feathered Nest will showcase home goods like leather furniture, lighting, kitchenware and décor like handwoven seagrass baskets.

Your sweet pad just might get a little sweeter with the opening of The Feathered Nest in Loomis this March.

Owners Shannon Ertel and Debbie Massie will be launching their home design store in a sprawling 11,000-square-foot space modeled after a barn (with glass-framed metal doors that roll up on good-weather days) that features a stylish, curated selection of goods like designer furniture, French antiques and hostess gifts.

“Our style is everything from modern farmhouse to industrial, and we love everything cozy and homey,” Ertel says. “We really tried to bring in things that you can’t find anywhere else in the region.”

The shop, which will be set up in room vignettes, will showcase items like bedside lamps by Regina Andrew Design, rugs by Kate Spade, chandeliers by upscale Dallas-based lighting company Arteriors, framed wall art by Rifle Paper Co. and throw pillows by Dash & Albert. The Feathered Nest will also offer luxury beds by Sweden-based Hästens, known for its high-end mattresses with natural fibers and checkered fabric.

It also has a kitchen and a conference room, and Ertel says she and Massie envision hosting events each month tied to the products the shop sells, like bread-making and pillow-decorating classes, or tutorials on how to pick the right paint colors and wallpaper for your home.

The Feathered Nest will host its grand opening on March 10 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. with finger foods and a coffee bar, and the shop will be open thereafter Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
