Sacramento Kings and JMA Ventures announce 3 new restaurants for Downtown Commons

Today, the Sacramento Kings and JMA Ventures announced three new restaurants that will open in the newly named Downtown Commons — formerly known as Downtown Plaza — adjacent to the new Golden 1 Center arena.
The three restaurants are Pour Society, Sauced BBQ and Spirits and Punch Bowl Social.
Sacramento will be the third location for Pour Society, started by James Beard Award-winning chef Bradley Ogden. The other two locations are in Las Vegas and Houston. Called a modern interpretation of a classic American pub with craft beer and handcrafted cocktails, this 6,000 square-foot space is expected to open in late 2016.
Next up will be Sauced BBQ and Spirits, which will open in late 2016 at 7th and K streets. This will be the small chain's third location, following Petaluma and Livermore.
And opening in early 2017 will be Punch Bowl Social, a restaurant and bar which features a retro gaming-theme with foosball, bowling, an '80s arcade and private karaoke rooms. This will be the chain's sixth location following Portland, Denver, Austin, Detroit and Cleveland. This 22,653 square-foot space will open inside the new mixed use tower with the Kimpton Hotel and residential tower.
In a statement, Robert Thompson, the founder and CEO of Punch Bowl Social, said: “When this project came to our attention last year and after learning about how strong the community rallies around their city, my first response was, ‘yes’. The ‘Farm to Fork capital of America’ is a no brainer for Punch Bowl Social. Punch Bowl Social is characterized by urban-grit and west coast sensibilities, a perfect piece to the growing Sacramento puzzle. When you combine Punch Bowl Social’s multi-faceted scratch kitchen, craft beverage and old-school gaming elements with Sacramento, the raw entertainment power of the NBA and the Kings, that’s a winning setup.”
