Bill Cosby will bring the funny to Grass Valley tonight.

This post-holiday weekend, you can have a laugh with Bill Cosby in Grass Valley, hear some Rumours with Stevie Nicks, or shop till you drop at a “good” street market.

Performing tonight in Grass Valley will the iconic funnyman Bill Cosby, who was ranked by Comedy Central in 2005 as the eighth greatest stand-up comic of all time and lauded as a Kennedy Center Honoree in 1998 as “one of the most influential performers of the second half of the 20th century." Cosby broke boundaries in the 1960s as the first African American to star in a television drama when he was on I Spy, then shot up in TV fame again with his long-running comedy The Cosby Show, which earned a combined eight Emmy and Golden Globe awards. Kicking off the outdoor event at the Nevada County Fairgrounds will be a performance from the soulful and jazzy Grass Valley-based Lorraine Gervais Band.  $20-$85 (free for ages 5 and under; $5 parking). The legendary band performs this Saturday in Sacramento during a tour to commemorate the 35th anniversary of its landmark Rumours album, which spawned classic hits like “Go Your Own Way” and “Second Hand News.” And listen for new material, which Stevie Nicks has hinted the group may debut on the road. $49.50-$149.50. Good: Street Food + Design Market
Returning this Sunday to the Del Paso Design District is Good: Street Food + Design Market, a monthly free marketplace begun by Hot Italian’s Andrea Lepore and operated by event planners Unseen Heroes. Now in its second season embracing art, fashion, design and great food, each event offers a variety of local vendors such as the popular Chando’s Tacos food truck, gourmet popsicle maker Fat Face, and eco-friendly apparel by Ana Apple. This weekend’s market will also feature workshops led by Ella Dining Room and Bar, with pastry chef Jane Anderson demonstrating how to make a panzanella using fresh summer fruit, and bartender Chris Dooley mixing up thirst-quenching mocktails.
