From pancake buffets to a Fido-focused egg hunt, here are 11 events in the Sacramento region to hop to during Easter Sunday weekend.
Easter Egg Express
Through April 15 All aboard the Sacramento RiverTrain for this two-and-a-half-hour Easter adventure, offered during the first three weekends of April. The train departs from West Sacramento and winds its way to Elkhorn Slough, where an epic egg hunt and bounce houses await. Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs
April 8 Tongues and tails will be wagging at the Rocklin RRUFF Dog Park’s fourth annual Easter egg hunt for canines. Cheer on pups as they sniff around to find plastic eggs filled with tasty Fido-friendly treats. Whichever lucky dog finds the golden egg will receive a bevy of goodies for them and their human best friend. Breakfast with the Bunny
April 15 Sit down and dine with the Easter icon at the Davis Odd Fellows’ Lodge, which will offer a buffet of pancakes, bacon and fruit. Then parade through downtown Davis and the Saturday farmers’ market where you can stop for some fresh local produce, or head to the Davis Community Church playground to search for over 900 hidden eggs. Easter Carnival
April 15 South Sacramento’s Rutter Park will be stocked with over 1,000 eggs to locate at Elevate Life Church’s annual Easter carnival. Bounce through inflatable castles, slides and obstacle courses or test your luck in a raffle for one of 40 gift baskets of baked goods made by Elk Grove’s Grupo Folklorico Calli, a performing arts youth group. Easter Egg Hunt & Spring Festival
April 15 Legends Sports Bar & Grill and Leaps & Bounds Rabbit Rescue are partnering up to host this annual festival at Roseville’s Woodcreek Golf Course. Come early for an Easter brunch buffet of bacon and eggs, and let the kids run wild on the driving range in search of candy-filled plastic eggs. Egg-O-Rama and Pancake Breakfast
April 15 Toss beanbags at toy trolls or pluck a duck from a stream for prizes at the Fulton-El Camino Recreation and Park District’s annual Egg-O-Rama and Pancake Breakfast. Elk Grove's Spring Egg'stravaganza
April 15 Elk Grove’s 12th annual Spring Egg’stravaganza will feature visits from Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny, a fairy garden and egg hunts grouped by age. Little ones can hop on rides like the carrot train, learn how to milk a cow, watch a ladybug release and go on a pony ride, then take a snack break for hot dogs and nachos from Dog Town food truck, or score some blueberry popcorn from Costa’s Finest Kettle Corn. Fairytale Town's Spring Eggstravaganza
April 15 & 16 Peter Cottontail will be hopping down to Fairytale Town for this two-day spring fête in Land Park, where youngsters will have the chance to find eggs by King Arthur’s Castle and on the Mother Goose Stage lawn, or meet the Easter Bunny while wearing rabbit ears they’ve made themselves. The Flower Farm's Easter Egg Scavenger Hunts
April 15 Challenge the whole family to find Easter eggs and treats at this scavenger hunt at The Flower Farm in Loomis, which provides fun clues to the locations of its hidden plastic eggs. While you’re out a-hunting, check out the farm’s mandarin orchards and plant nurseries, which will be decorated with stuffed rabbits and birds peeking out from behind bushes and fences near the hidden prizes. Kids Easter Egg Hunt
April 15 Fair Oaks’ Sunrise Community Church has been hosting this free egg hunt for over 10 years, and more than 700 people are expected to attended this year's event. Activities include bounce houses, balloon artists and face painting, along with three egg hunts throughout the day for kids in fifth grade and below. West Sacramento's Spring Celebration
April 15 Hop on over to West Sacramento for this 7th annual festival, which will include face painting, tie-dying and a chance to decorate an Easter gift bag to carry home loot from the day’s egg hunts.
