With a new team uniform, Sacramento River Cats players wear their hometown pride on their sleeves

It’s a whole new sartorial ball game for the Sacramento River Cats, who will be breaking out Sacramento-inspired alternate uniforms this season.

The new jerseys—whose look was created by the team’s graphic designer, Mike Villareal—will make their season debut at the River Cats’ first home game on April 15.

The orange-hued threads feature a silhouette of California with images of the Tower Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge, plus the word “Sactown” emblazoned across the front. While the shirt hints at the team’s San Francisco Giants affiliation, it more strongly reinforces its hometown connection, says River Cats marketing director Erin O’Donnell, who spearheaded the project. “We really wanted to capture the pride of Sacramento,” she says.

The jerseys, which can be purchased at Raley Field and on the River Cats’ website, will be worn at Friday night home games throughout the season. We may be biased, but we’ve definitely got an orange crush on the new duds.
