March 1–17 Visionaries of the Harlem Renaissance, Zora Neale Hurston and Langston Hughes live on through their writing. They’re also remembered for one of America’s most notorious literary feuds. Preservation Hall Jazz Band
March 11 Born to keep jazz traditions alive amid the rock ’n’ roll of the 1960s, this rotating ensemble has been a New Orleans institution for more than half a century. March 27 As a best-selling culinary author, former New York Times and Los Angeles Times restaurant critic and Gourmet magazine’s longtime editor-in-chief, Ruth Reichl has cooked up a reputation as one of the world’s foremost foodies.
