Fat's Asia Bistro
Essential Information
Roseville’s outpost of the venerable Fat’s empire is a sleek update on the local chain, with pan-Asian flair and a successful blend of old and new. The restaurant’s airy, dramatic design features full-size palms and modern detailing—dark wood, cushy booths—but its construction subtly references ancient Chinese temple architecture. The menu, too, offers Fat’s favorites like minced chicken in lettuce cups, honey walnut prawns and the famed banana cream pie. Those looking for something a little different, however, will find plentiful updates, especially among the dim sum, from dramatically presented long and skinny Filipino lumpia to panko-crusted fried calamari. Other dishes also have fresh touches, like the lemongrass chicken topping classic chow mein or the Genghis Khan beef. In a rush? There’s a handy to-go counter just to the left of the entry.
