The onetime midtown home of Sam’s Hof Brau and Hamburger Patties has gone country with this new partnership from the proprietors of Ace of Spades and Tank House BBQ and Bar. But while the décor is down-home Western (think wall-mounted moose and water buffalo heads or the antlers and arrows on the chandeliers), Goldfield’s menu weaves bursts of upscale sophistication and surprise through its lineup of revamped old-school favorites, from the delicate tangle of caramelized onions and garlic aioli blanketing the pulled pork sliders to the whiskey au jus and horseradish cream accompanying the “cowpoke” steak sandwich. Come for the food (or maybe some local beer from Ruhstaller or New Glory Brewing in a boot-shaped mug), and stay for line dancing or live music from regional and touring acts, both of which Goldfield hosts throughout the week in its sizable performance space.
