In East Sacramento, the husband-and-wife culinary team of Michael Fagnoni and Molly Hawks has opened the ultimate gastropub—a lively counterpoint to Hawks, the couple’s acclaimed fine-dining restaurant in Granite Bay. The two keep true to their best-ingredients-only policy, serving elegant, rustic fare from a menu that changes seasonally, but might include seared tombo tuna with pole beans, summer squash and cherry tomatoes in a lemon basil broth, or a succulent Wagyu burger topped with aged cheddar and aioli.
