Don’t let the façade fool you. There really is a bar and restaurant just beyond the green awning, and it’s been there since 1987. Jamie’s serves solidly traditional American favorites, from the amazing Cobb salad (with the crispest greens ever), to the hot open-faced turkey sandwich to the classic juicy burger served with American or Swiss. Specials on the board might include a Reuben, a killer clam chowder, or a Chinese chicken salad. Jamie’s is pure, no-nonsense, feel-good food and drink without a lot of frills: you’ll find one beer on tap (Sierra Nevada Pale Ale) and just a dozen or so menu items, but they’re done well. Don’t be scared by the bison and deer heads. Like the food, they’re American classics.
