This addition to the Wong family’s restaurant repertoire—brothers Mason, Alan and Curtis also own Iron Horse Tavern, Cafeteria 15L, Mix Downtown and Public House Downtown (formerly Firestone)—takes diners on a global culinary tour with 16 different tacos by executive chef Christian Palmos, like the Korean fried chicken on a steamed bao shell and French-style duck confit on a corn tortilla. And the drinks are equally as diverse, from the Cali craft beers to the quaffable cocktails (like the minty dragonberry mojito) and flights of tequila. While Mies van der Rohe—who popularized the phrase “less is more”—may beg to differ, at this R Street hot spot, más is más.
