Sutter Street Steakhouse
Essential Information
This sprawling steakhouse is the sister restaurant to the popular Chico establishment, and it fits historic Folsom just right, offering a handsome space with dark wood (and a dramatic glass-walled wine room) and an easygoing yet upscale air. The menu is, as the name implies, meaty, but there are also seafood options (such as the lobster tail or rotating fish special, plus an oyster bar), as well as starters like a “loaded” iceberg wedge salad (generously topped with bacon and cheddar) or crisp onion rings with chipotle ketchup. But the steak is the draw. Try Nick’s Grill, a filet mignon with a mustard sauce and blue cheese, the mole-crusted rib eye or the NY steak. All steaks come with mounds of mashed potatoes, or diners can opt for the yummy cheddar cheese potato cakes for $2 more.
