You may not find Sam or Diane or Norm at Ten Ten Room—the latest venture from husband-wife team Tyler and Melissa Williams, who also own Jungle Bird and Tank House BBQ and Bar—but you will find a decidedly Cheers-esque vibe, thanks to the friendly service and warm wood décor, which includes a large custom-built mahogany bar. Chef Greg Pilapil, formerly of Hook & Ladder and the erstwhile L Wine Lounge, has whipped up a menu of mid-century favorites for 21st-century palates—think roasted chicken breast over a deconstructed green bean casserole with peppery mushroom gravy topped with crispy fried onions, and an appetizer of meatballs smothered in a grape jelly sauce, an elevated take on the classic party combo. The cocktail list at this ’50s- and ’60s-inspired downtown boîte (which gets its name from its location at 1010 10th Street, next to Grange) is equally retro cool with drinks like Corpse Reviver No. 2, Harvey Wallbanger and our favorite, the creamy Grasshopper.
