Essential Information

1207 21st St., Sacramento, CA 95811
91-647-5760

This kitschy, cozy new bar from the team behind Ace of Spades, Goldfield and other local hot spots is a lumberjack-themed paradise, with hewn log walls and a crackling fireplace that evoke mid-century Tahoe. (Just look out for the taxidermied squirrel in an orange hunting vest—maybe he’s the one who bagged the life-size bear in the entry.) Try the popular Gimmie S’more, a heavy cream and cacao concoction topped with a torched marshmallow that wafts a roasty, nostalgic scent throughout the small space every time a customer orders one. Other creative craft cocktails include the Stabbin’ Cabin, which is made with Kentucky bourbon, lemon juice, champagne and house-made filthy grenadine, and Northern Lights, which contains aged rum, champagne, lime juice, banana liqueur and house butterfly pea syrup. For snacks, trail mix is served up in log bowls and locally sourced jerky is available by the bag. Because, with apologies to Monty Python, tonight you’re a lumberjack, and that’s more than okay.
